Interior Courtesy Light

Hi,

Does anyone know the colours of the 2 wires for the interior light?

depends on the model/year but i've seen pink and pink/white?

On my 200tdi they are purple which is the live and purple/blue which is the switched earth this goes to the door switches and at the light itself you will also a black wire which is earth, don't know if they differ on newer defenders .

Thanks Ian it's a 200tdi loom which I should have posted, I will have a search now

What's the actual problem with them ?

When it was rebuilt it was done in haste for a show we were going to so the only wires run were the essential ones and the rest of the loom was taped up and left. I have a new Puma dash arriving next week and I have all the roof lining etc. so I need to get the light in place and then run a second light of it for the rear

Did something similar to my 110 upgraded the lights to the newer type ones and removed the dash switch, if you haven't removed any of the plugs they run into a switch on the dash by your right knee so will also have a black slate (I think) wire with them as well .

Iirc purple is the permanent live in the whole car, theres even one that runs to the back osr lamp for caravan elecs, works well for spotlights etc, Iirc disco is the same.
