Hi, my newly, and first, acquired FL1 interior light only worked when the door was opened. Pressing the buttons didn't turn any of the map lights or main interior light on.
So I removed the light unit from the ceiling by gently pulling on the bottom end (nearest to windscreen) until the clips spring off, then gently pull down to slide the top of the light unit away to free off the plastic locating pegs then pull down, be careful of the wiring. You shouldn't to rive at anything.
Once the main wire was unclipped, I removed the foam backing on the PCB to reveal the tracking.
Looks like damp/moisture has caused the PCB track to become corroded.
So with a bit of wire and solder, I set about bridging the track to the connector. Like this:
Now it works like it should! I used double sided tape to stick the foam back on and refitting is reversal or removal (Don't ya love that Haynes phrase!)
