Interia light not working when rear door opend.

Hi people, got a good un for ya....
when i open any door inc boot the dash tells me the doors open and the interia light comes on, all except the rear driver side door, this tells me on the dash that its open but if i open just that door the interia light doesnt come on... any ideas?? and is the "door pin" switch inside the door handle (inside the door panal) thanks,
ANOTHER annoyin little prob thats probrably simple to fix if you no how.:doh:

No, there is no 'pin' as you have on other cars. The microswitch is in the door lock assembly. If it's showing on the dash as open, I've no idea why the interior lights won't come on. They definately come opn with just the other rear door open on its own?

Hi, thanks for the info. i found the micro switch and after somme messin around i managed to sort of clean it but the interia light still doesnt come on, it tells me on the dash that the door is open but thats about it, all other doors and boot are fine.... its a strange un lol

Hi, is that the BECM or is there a controll module for the lights, if there is where would i find the dam thing? can they be cleaned or fixed or is it normally a "chuck in the bin" and get a new un, many thanks for the info.

No, there's no separate controller for the lights. Everything is controlled by the BeCM. There's only one switch on the rear doors and that's to tell you that they're open. I've looked at Rave and I cannot find a reason why the lights won't come on if it's recognising that the door is open.

Thanks for having a look, i went to land rover in bury and spoke to a tec who did try and help but hes not and his mate havent heard of that prob before,
1 of the tecs was only young so probrably hasnt worked on the P38 but the other chap worked there years etc, in the end he recomended booking it in with them so i give him enuf for a pint or 2 for his help:beer2: and said i wanted it sorting... but its only a bloody bulb and not that inportant for the price of Land Rovers labour charges.
