Afternoon! Thought I'd share this with you: I recently acquired a '94 Disco and rang the insurance company (Post Office underwritten by Aviva) to remove my Merc and stick the Landy on. I was asked if the car had any modifications and I told them it had a 2" lift (better safe than sorry). I was told that, unless the modification increased performance, they weren't bothered. They stuck a note on the account and wished me a nice day. No extra charge or penalty. I was pleasantly surprised and thought I'd share the joy.

you are right in most cases but as you say best safe than sorry as insurance companys can be funny when you have an accident and they find things you dont inform them of.

for and extera few quid what harm dose it do, if you anit happy you can still shop around

i just had a similar thing, i got worried about the A bar on the front of my Disco 1, so called the insurance company , and said that it had an A bar, and that some companies require you tell them this, they said no worries about that, and that they meant when they ask about modifications they mean performance mods like, sports exhaust, ect. or anything put on to increase power, they said it was fine.

when i told em i had LPG the woman on the phone didnt know what that was, she asked if it increased the power and i said no so she werent fussed either. I would prob inform em though as they will wriggle out of paying up by any means possible.

mines £330 with off raod and green lane cover all mods as long as i dont make it faster they just want to know what iv done to it.
