intercooler

whats the best way and best stuff to use to clean a 200 tdi intercooler?

paraffin or petrol - but make sure its dry before refitting.

i have a large parts washer at my mates unit and could leave it in that and use parafin is it ok to leave it soakin for a while or best to just rinse it thro and then dry it

i cant see why not - its only a big ally radiator - int it.

dont put rubber into paraffin tho.

take off ya grill and trek down to your local car wash ( lance type ) and blast it out . The fins are thicker than the rad ones so can take the the water pressure , but dont get too close or blast from an angle and you'll be fine .
( been cleaning out rads and ICs this way for 18 yrs and never bent or damaged one yet )


Or do you mean inside ? ---- in that case the parts washer and shed loads of water to flush it out after is fine - just get all the water out after .

Cools down the air that has been heated up by compression of the turbo - cooler air = more dense = better burn
