Disco 2 Intercooler upgrade

HI all, looking to upgrade the intercooler on my manual td5. Do I need to move the radiator or should i try to just work on the intercooler?

Theoretically you can remove the intercooler only by pushing the radiator towards the engine (after removing the fan and some screws, bolts) but last time when i have done i also removed the radiator.

i guess it is safer that way for both radiator and intercooler
