I am going to get my TD5 Disco re-mapped soon and can't decide weather I should put a bigger intercooler on as well. I want my disco to be more fuel efficient and have more torque. I am not that bothered about flat out power, so do I really need an intercooler????

i've had my D2 auto remapped, and the boost adjusted a little. standard intercooler and it's fine

I just had a remap (TD5Alive) ive been very happy with the outcome, I dont know what extra difference a bigger intercooler would make as well, but the remap made it much more driveable. Why dont you try the remap 1st, it would be cheaper that way, if you still want more after that you could spend the extra on a bigger intercooler then, rather than all the expense in one go.

I have a 2005 110, started off with EGR and cat removal, then alisport intercooler, silicon boost hoses and K&N, then had a remap and turbo boost adjustment done by Dynachip, great guy to deal with and he knows his stuff. The difference in the Landy is unbelievable, it goes so much better than ever before, so much power compared to standard. Fuel wise it's better too, but it's very tempting to floor it just to upset the chav tastic motors you come across. Since having mine done I have learnt a lot about remaps, the price difference is unbelievable, the software comes from the same place but some companies are charging over £500 for a remap, Dynachip is £225 and he comes to you, trust me he is great to deal with and even does a diagnostic on your engine for free, he picked up what was wrong with my 110 that even after paying a main dealer for a £450 service never picked up!!!! Not sure how much of a difference having a bigger intercooler makes but after looking at the standard one compared to the alisport one I have the cooling is going to be much much better.
