Good evening all,

So for the past few months i have been wanting to start to tune my 300Tdi as i need a little more power for going up long up hill drags at motorway speeds.

My boost is bang on and i have an EGT gauge so i know my base line is good. All i have done so far is turned the boost pin 2/3rds.

My next step is the intercooler but Allisport have been out of stock for a long time. I believe i am on the back order list but who knows how long that will be.

Anyone here on the back order list or any inside info into the situation?

From what i understand Allisport is the best there is and the is why i have been waiting for stock

Cheers Landy Lee

Have you adjusted the max fuel screw?
A 1/4 turn inwards can really make a difference.
6 and 13m spanner.

Could be an option?

They do a lot of VAG stuff, heard good things

Tdi tuning is a bit of a double edged sword. More power will mean more smoke and heat. So while it can go more quickly, you may also have to back off sooner. Long hills and drags, esp when towing will make the EGT's go through the roof.

Not saying you shouldn't do it. But it isn't a one fix for all.

As for intercoolers, keep an eye on ebay. There are some clones that are a lot cheaper than the Allisport ones. And I'd suspect offer almost identical performance. I know that the 200 and 300 fmic's are slightly different with the pipes. But you could fit the 200 one and just make the pipes fit using silicon hoses and/or aluminium tubing.

I personally think a large FMIC is the way for power. Although I haven't tested the standard size large volume ones out. But the sellers of these seem to claim less performance. An FMIC will cover the radiator, not sure if this has any real impact or if it just EGT's, but expect under load or wide open throttle to see significantly higher temps.

If its the double core allisport it will be the best thing you will ever do to the 300 tdi - well besides getting boost at 1.2 bar

The pipes in and out of the intercooler don't have that same "bulge" on the ends so the pipes have a tendency to not seal as well - evident by an oil smudge - get some good clamps - preferably the ones with the inner ring

Cheers for the input guys!

I is the double core intercooler i am after and from people i have spoken to that have them i feel its the way to go. Some people are seeing a 170c drop in EGT after fitting!

What temp you running at the moment?
Dont forget this will go up a bit when you add a bit more fuel.
