Hehe, the annoying thing is i thought i was replacing the cc hoses so why does it work now??
I'm off to get a bottle of JD and starting a CC thread.
I'm intrigued:confused:

Right then, You can call these hoses what you like but, i just removed them and went for a drive to the shop to collect Jack, pressed the dash switch, pressed the set button on the steering wheel at 40mph and guess what,
Yep, no cruise control. At the shop i reconnected the hoses and on the trip home, well, take another guess???
They definately have something to do with the Cruise control, don't know what but without them the CC don't work.

My completely random way out there guess would be something along the lines of if the engine ECU doesnt know whats going on with the EGR (whatever does go on with it) then it maybe uses a restricted set of fuel mappings or something as well as diasbling cruise control as it can't figure out how to apply the throttle to drive the vehicle??

This is a completely random guess and probably way off base!

Well, I was going to clean my intercooler this weekend, but the missus has just informed me that we are going to the Outlaws in Southampton. Joy....

Hi decided to do my intercooler this afternoon and take it to work tonight and flush out, but, after removing battery cover, slam panel and grill,( 6 screws in this )the drivers side bolt hidden by a plastic cover ! Removed this and with aid of a socket knuckle as previously described got last bolt out but even with hoses removed it wont budge ?. Do you have to remove the twin fan assembly first or is there another bolt somewhere.Mine is a 2000DHSE, any difference there ?
Onyx:confused:

Once the 4 bolts holding the ic in are removed, along with the slam and hoses, it should just lift straight out. Don't know if there is a difference between a 99 and an 00MY sorry.

Hi, found em !!. 2bolts under foam diffuser that is on top of the rad. Took em out , pulled off expansion tank pipe and mauled it out.The foam must stop the rad from vibrating against the slam panel ! Onyx:D

hi
mine is a 95 DT so there must be some modification across the years, i take it you have drained the radiator expansion tank if so remember and cover the fuse box with a plastic bag before you refill it just incase you spill water over it

Scratch that, the Rangie failed its MOT so not going to Southampton or cleaning the Intercooler...! Got to try and fit a new exhaust and get it retested instead....

Think I'd rather spend time with the Mother-In-Law!

I don't know what the differences are but i didn't go anywhere near the expansion tank.

Sorry i was thinking of the dryer, mine too is bolted to the ac condenser rad but i still didn't have to drain the expansion tank, Just undone the 4 bolts and off she popped.
Must be a different setup as you said.

There are indeed 6 screws but you only need remove the top 4 as the grille doesn't have to be removed completely. Its only to allow the slam panel to be removed.

o.k, o.k, o.k,
getting a bit confused now.
ants70, mines a 2000 vogue, will it be the same intercooler setup as yours? and what are the benefits of washing out the intercooler in the first place? cheers mate.

as far as i am aware the intercoolers are all the same on the p38 diesels upto 2001/02--- after a while they become coated in oily crud restricting the cooling capacity of the air, so cleaning it helps to keep it running in tip top form.

If it's a rare petrol vogue you might have trouble finding the intercooler but on the diesel version it runs more efficiently, supposedly revives the lost horses and helps the engine to breath fresh instead of oily air which has been dumped in there over the years from the turbo and engine breathers.
