how? if the engine is directly coupled to the wheels - how for the same engine revs will the wheels turn faster?

as a **** poor simile - if yu hold a broom stick and rotate it at 3 revs per minute - the other end turns at 3 revs per minute - now give the broomstick to a body builder - if he turns the broomstick at 3 revs per minute, does the broomhead turn faster - no.

Broom example is good, if the engine was stripped and rebuilt to produce an extra 100 BHP this still does not alter the fact that at x revs you can do x speed. You could argue that it gets to x speed quicker but at the end of the day cleaning the intercooler will not reduce your revolutions at a given speed.

I'm no scientist or boffin, but if the engine is running more efficiently due to having cleaned the intercooler, it will produce more power for a given rev range, therefor you will go faster at the same revs, please correct me if i'm wrong

I consider myself corrected, thanks
