So my dear old lady has had a replacement engine of unknown origin at some point, funny how that is not in the service history. :D:D:D:D:D

Ok first of all don't worry looks like they have done a proper job you have either a BMW or omega engine fitted including air manifold with your original or the replacement exhaust manifold our 1999 on wards don't have air sensor wire for that type so don't worry as long as you have the maf sensor the one in the air intake near air box and the tube from under your sir manifold going too your map the one in the fuel filter bracket all is fine !!! Surprising how many have been changed would not of thought a 2001 just goes to show be Vigalent ok hope this helps ;)

Thanks guys for all the info,i had a feeling when i bought the car that it should have had a plastic manifold but put it to the back of my mind and as everything else was so good and the car drove so well,i bought it half knowing it would have been fecked with at some point in its life.

Still love her though and another mystery solved.

Cheers all
Ed

Just as a by the by,went to look at a cheap p38 the other day for spares-eas issues they could not figure out- and it was fitted with a sweet running 3.9 from a classic with LPG. You never know whats under there :D

having run 4 omega diesels can tell you it looks very much like one!!

I dunno who has done the work or when it was done, but thankfully it has been very well done and looks as if it has always been there.Possibly just a manifold and surrounding pipework change as all else seems to be RR bits and all the numbers tie in with the paperwork :)

IIRC the mig (Omega) is somewhat detuned compared to the RR and the BMW. Be interesting to know if it has the RR chip or the mig one. I guess they probably stuck with the original RR one?
