Well it's that time of year again.
Just got my renewal through - £329.82
They want £381.35 for her Focus and she's got more NCB than me !!!!
Total = £711.17
At a quick glance that's actually not bad, it's about £60 less than last year.

HOWEVER
I stick our details into the SAME company's online system and come up with
Rangie £193.02
Focus £192.78
Total = £385.80

So, apart from wondering how a 1.6 litre Focus can go from costing about £50 more to 24 pence less to insure than a 2.5 litre Rangie, I make the phone call. Yup, they've price matched themselves, what a surprise. Now I've got three weeks to see if I can beat this price from the thieving b******s.

Mine is due at the end of the month ive had a quick look and mine is near on £400 im looking forward to there renewal price which I will receive from them and I expect it to be double. :(

All insurance companies are thieving ...........

Mines up for renewal middle of march its the same as your first quote £329 could you tell me who you got the other quote from? please dog's as I've had a look around cheapest I can get is £283 with a whopping £500 excess whereas the original is £250

The whole thing was with Admiral, with a £250 excess and only 4 years NCB.
My next move is to try;
Bell Insurance
Diamond Insurance
Elephant.co
They're all part of the Admiral group so the online forms are basically the same (ideal for an old duffer like me) but they all ask for your best offer so far and often will bid against each other.

I know that loyalty gets you nowhere but I know that Admiral will pay out as Elephant payed out after SWMBO ripped the side out of my E Class Merc - TWICE - five years ago, hence my poor NCB,

Just had mine in €449 but will get a €77 rebate as I have done less than the mileage I paid for. Includes international recovery and unlimited travel anywhere in the EU and a loan car/hotel for breakdowns or accidents.
Equates to about £300 at the rate my last Euro's were purchased.

Having driven through France on many occasions and seen the state of the cars (especially the bodywork in Paris) I can only assume that your relatively low costs are because no-body claims for anything less than a write-off.
:D

No, we just don't have the insurers selling claims info to lawyers and all the fake whiplash claims:) No one is too worried about appearances either:):)

Funny you should mention this. I recently received an email from AF. 5 good reasons to choose them. They reckon that the customer service team is better than before. Lol. When I get on the pc instead of the phone, I'll copy it and post it.
