I am currently insured with Adrian Flux, but my premium has gone from£165 to£190 this renewal.

I have a K reg defender, 300tdi convert with listed value of£6000 and 3000 limited milage.

This year it has hardly moved due to covid and I am a little disappointed with the increase.

It is not my daily driver so I have it for domestic use only and not traveling to work. However, I did call and ask if I could use it for work for two days whilst my main car was in for its MOT - but they wanted about £45 for that so I passed on it. I did find that a bit disappointing too!

So I am about to renew and thought it worth asking for suggestions for alternative providers. However, this time I want to include for the option of traveling to work so I can actually give it a run to keep it moving - this year I have probably done about 350 miles or so.

I would like the option for green laning so when we are allowed I can hopefully join some of you folks and you can teach me how to drive!!

Any suggestions received with thanks.

Mick

Dont forget green laning in the eyes of the law is no different to driving on metalled roads
They may tell you otherwise, but if its a legal road then you are free to drive it
I have both my 90 and the series full comp guarenteed value 6k each, think mileage is 3k each with european breakdown cover 250 quid all in
I think its Peter Best insurance, but not at home so cannot be 100 percent

Edit I was mistaken it is Peter James insurance (as per Flats post below) and premium was 254 quid, both cars modified but only with a winch on each, it is also social/domestic and commuting

I use Peter James insurance, classic policy, unlimited mileage, fully comp and agreed value, social domestic and pleasure, and breakdown, £100 excess and it’s just over £200.

been with them a few years and the price does fluctuate up and down a bit. Not by much though, and I presume that’s because there is some index they have to align to

They are also quite good customer service when you ring or email them to

Many thanks. I will be calling them this morning for a quote.

Any other suggestions please let me know this morning as I hope to get it sorted by then.

Thanks again.
Mick

Just an update. I have renewed with AF. After speaking with them they agreed to include commuting in the price and I thought that was fair.
The only other I spoke to was NFU. The lady was very nice and explained their policy as it was different to AF. It sounded like a better policy but was more expensive.

I did want to speak with others but it is difficult getting through and also one was having IT problems, do with AF coming back as they did I stuck with them.
