I always understood that if you had the clause on your insurance (fully comp or otherwise) allowing you to drive other cars then you could on a third party basis as long as it was already covered by someone elses insurance, normally the owner and, of course, taxed and tested.
However, i have heard that the other car does not need to be covered by other insurance and you can still drive it on yours.
Can anyone actually confirm this one way or the other for certain (not just rumor.)
