AFAIK flux allow a certain amount of mods on a like for like replacement basis FOC with a 4x4 policy, I've been with them for around 5 years, first 3 on my modified Mazda RX8 then last 18 months with me disco, only slightly modded, winch and winch bumper, snorkel, breathers and bigger A/T tyres on standard ES wheels, spots, light bar and spots, all declared without a prob or increase, personally flux have been cheaper than anyone else by a good way and if they aren't they will compete with them if you haggle haggle haggle lol

I declared NOTHING!!!
Mug or fool you may say but at a young 23 with all mods declared they want £6000!!!
So I paid £500 and I will use the £5500 I saved to repair or replace it IF anything happens.

Silly boy im 22 declared all my mods - cost went up £60-
i pay £600 give or take.

have to agree with what's been said, declare or run a big risk.

some companies are more understanding re mods than others (both in terms of accepting and premiums) - usual names mentioned on here (NFU, Flux, Lancaster) are more used to Landys being mod'd than the 'domestic car' insurers

I agree, dnt delcare havea crash any slight mod will mean they wont pay out

I assume thats reply to me? Use the quote button ;);)

Quotes are massivly dependant on where you live, your job, where its kept over night etc. £100 difference isnt that much when as you say quotes can range from £700 - £4000

I take back any nice comments I previously made about Flux...
When I was able to confirm my engine IS the 17H Def one, I told 'em. Turns out it's 9bhp more powerful than the standard 2286 S3 petrol one, but from 74 to 83bhp Flux decided to whack a huge £47 extra on my policy. 83bhp is still less powerful than my first motorbike!
A week ago I actually overtook someone (the 1st thing I passed other than push bikes in 2 months), going uphill doing 53 mph... well it was a farm vehicle! God knows what Flux would charge for a V8!

My renewal came through from Lancasters, actually dropped a few quid :)

So being an honest sort of chap I rang them and told them I'd fitted alloy wheels, big tyres and a couple of other bits and bobs.

The result of this honesty was a reduction of another tenner. :scratching_chin:

I insured my Disco 1 through Sureterm Direct. I pay £170 FC. They have allowed certain mods FOC but said that if I put the 2" lift on, they will charge me £29 extra and an admin fee of £30! WTF?

s3 diesel with a winch £82 a year fc. limit your milage if your landys not your main mode of transport and prices drop by more than 50%.

my milage is limited to 2499 miles a year but thats more than enough for me. policy is with lancaster.
