Hi, I just wondered (A) do I need to do anything other than mechanically install a replacement ABS pump. Do I have to program it into the ECU with a VIN number or anything or is it plug and play. Also someone had a really brilliant way of expelling all the air manually without the Hawkeye. I do have a Hawkeye and have been through the procedure but I still have a softish pedal when the engine is running, so I presume I still must have air in there somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, you have to beed it both ways, with hawkeye first then with pedal cos the circuits are separate within the modulator, you can't bleed the pedal's circuit with hawkeye nor the return pump's circuit with pedal, if the system was bled well in the correct sequence and the pedal is still soft the problem might be with the master cylinder, also the system was built as to not have a rock solid pedal whatsoever, that's why the modulator has damper and expansion chambers within.... no programming is needed

Thanks very much for your help, I saw another one of your post suggesting swapping Relay 10 for relay 8, is that likely to help and what difference might I feel? I swapped them and it felt better, but it might have been my imagination .

Thanks again

A

I'm sure that i didnt ever say to swap relay R10 with 8 for other reason than ABS active functions misbehaviour or 3 amigos which has nothing to do with how the pedal works
