Hello all,

Does anyone know where I can get a new inner tube supplied and fitted in the Cambridge/Royston area? I’m struggling to find anyone who deals with inner tube tyres. It’s for my Series 3, where I had a blow out on Sunday. 7.50 x 16 Rangemasters...

Many thanks in advance.

Greg

you could probably do them yourself with the levers and patience..

'Tis a pain in the ass, sometimes

I'd ring around if you don't want to do them

Thanks for that. I think I’d prefer a progressional to do it for me. Happy to my hands dirty but not so keen on messing with the tyres - and as you say it will probably be a pain. I have called quite a few local tyre places and no luck so far...

Probably cause they dont have the tubes...get one on line and i'm sure any fitter will do it...

I've used T and J Tyres Cambridge, 63d Orchard Rd, Great Shelford, Cambridge CB22 5AA, for fitting unusual self-supplied tyres to rims for another car, so they might be able to help you. A very small place down a back road, but fairly helpful.

In the past, I've also used Kingsway, in Kings Hedges, who specialised in commercial vehicles, although according to Google Maps, they no longer exist (not at their old address, anyway). Shame.

Many thanks for this. I have booked in for T and J to supply and fit a new inner tube this weekend. It’s really useful to get this local intel, so thanks again.

Get some of the tr13 to tr 15 adaptors, the Series wheels are often tr 15 and the inner tubes are often tr13 but don't always say. I carry a couple of these in case:

I got mine from a UK supleir but I can only find German today. Really save a lot of hassle as you can get to the tyre place and find they quibble as the valve hole is wrong.

Thanks for all the replies. The tyre place I’m going to says that they have the “fat valve” inner tube which seems to match what I have. I will find out tomorrow!

Well, I went to T and J tyres in Shelford, and they replaced the inner tube. I've kept the old one, thinking I could repair it and keep it as a spare. The guy at the tyre place said this would be fine. Is this a good idea?

Glad you got it done and they were able to help you out. It's an odd place, isn't it? Very small, but they seem competent enough and being independent, they seem happy to help out with less common requests.
