i would like to know if there is a way of testing injectors myself? ( for my 300tdi?)

Testing With a Multimeter/Ohmreader
Step1
Set your multimeter to check for resistance or turn on the ohmmeter.
Step2
Disconnect the wires to the injector.
Step3
Place your meter's leads on each of the two injector terminals. Read the meter display.
Step4
Check your service manual for your car's resistance number. Most fuel injectors have a resistance of between 10 to 18 ohms.
Step5
Test each injector. If any of the injector readings are higher or lower than they should be, you need to replace them.

Listening
Step1
Put a long screwdriver directly on the injector while the car is running.
Step2
Hold the handle up to your ear. You should be able to hear a rhythmic clicking sound. If you do, your injector is good. Hearing a clunk-clunk type noise means you have found your problem.
Step3
Hearing silence or unusual clicking patterns means either the injector, wires or plunger may be bad or sticking. You will either have to clean or replace them.

or you could send them to these peeps

I think the above advice was for a TD5?????????
a local diesel specialist will test them for a small fee usually while you wait.
If you need to get new ones I found the cheapest place was Paddocks but that was 18 months ago.

????

You want to test the spray pattern, you will need a POP tester, these injectors have 2 stages so if the pop tester used is not designed to do two stages this you can really only get one reading (but to be honest that is enough to tell if they are working well or not).

The later 300tdi's did actually have electronics on the injectors, which sent metering information to the ECU, but at that you still can't test the spray patten without getting them out and putting them on a tester.
