Hi,

I am having an issue with one of my injector seats leaking. This issue became apparent to me after a recent HG change.

I have removed the injector to inspect the seat and can see obvious damage to the cylinder head. There is essentially a channel formed between the injector seat and the underside of the cylinder head. I can think of no way to repair this, so assume a replacement cylinder head is required.

However I thought I'd see if there was anyone on here who knows of a method to repair a problem like this before I shell out £300 on a new head.

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so I have put together a little drawing of the damage.

It's a 300tdi engine.

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer.

Thanks Dirty Tom.

All sorted now. I bought an injector seat cutter for £25 on ebay, cut the seat, dropped in a new washer and it's job done!
