you can get them but dont even think of changing them unless you have done them before, the best advice on this one bite the bit and get a proper diesel specialist to do the pump (ouch) but you are looking at 100 + for the job

What nonsense!
It's a piece of cake to strip and clean a simple injection pump.
NO special tools are needed, but you must take care, act intelligently, and be CLEAN.
The ideal cleaning method is the pistol jet airline.
Go ahead - strip and clean the pump!
Lucas actually published the instructions.

I Think charllesy has got his wires crossed, lucas never made an injection pump as far as i am aware , to over haul an injection pump is a speslist job and you need a bit of kit to set it up that costs many thousands of pounds, a lift pump is a doddle to clean but it is not an injector pump

What nonsense!
Simply put, you are not aware! Lucas-CAV are among the biggest ever makers of fuel injection kit, and even the TD5 is Lucas-Delphi parts, especially the injectors.
A simple old Landy type injection pump CAN EASILY be dismantled and cleaned to perfection WITHOUT TOUCHING ANY OF THE CRITICAL INTERNAL SETTINGS, and I have done plenty. In fact it is a bit of cake, and the engine will run a lot better afterwards.
So PLEASE, no more old wives' tales about the sky falling down if you open up an injection pump! The striking thing about all the people who make these announcements is this - THEY have never tried it, let alone done it!
They should listen to those of us who have.

Don't blame anyone else - you did it all by yourself.
But that still does not mean there aren't lots of us out there who CAN fix injection pumps.

I had a cav apart the other week on a bmc which is also a radial, the blades you mention sound like the blades on the transfer pump, if so the blades have to go in a certain way, if you look close the profile on the edge is slightly diffo on one side, get them in wrong and it will not run right.
Take up thingies offer of 20 quid, thats not bad, then you'll have a spare to play with at leisure.
Watch the governor, lots af little bits to lose.

When I was a kid I used to smash square pegs through round holes on one of those shape through hole thingies, so I could fix an injector pump no probs, so long as I've got mi lump 'ommer.
How is that possible when the expert told us that Lucas never made injection stuff?

who made tha valve then, was it moulinex.
Our beloved politicians should be out there alright, but well in front of our troops, right out in the open, wearing hi-visibility jackets.
