Hi guys, Normally I'd hang out in the series section, but this is a disco question, I just got a 300 tdi engine to go in my series, I noticed that on the injector pump there is the usual cutoff solenoid and another black thingy which has a 3 core wire going to it, I believe this is a security device, how do I override this, could I just drill the screws out and remove it.
And the other device I'm not so sure about is a device on the turbo, it looks like its on the inlet manifold side, is this a boost pressure sensor, can I just leave this unconnected?.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

the wiring going to the turbo is the to do with the EGR valve just forget about it
and the wiring on top of the injector pump is also for the EGR just forget about this also
if its on the back just remove it and conect to the solenoid as normal

Ok yes I thought the wiring on the turbo was egr, however after a bit of surfing I have found out that this being a 93 it has what lr call a digital cutoff solenoid, this is a gizmo fastened to the pump with security shear bolt screws and ghas 3 wires to it, and only operates with a digital code from the ecu on one of the wires, I'm sure a couple of people have hacked this and modded it to work the same as a single wire solenoid.

Yep I found that out too, but wasnt gonna post it as its telling someone how to pinch a truck.
The wire to the turbo has something to do with the egr system.
