Hi,

Have recently swapped one injector over and trying to code the new injector which has the code 'BHLLA', when I tap the code in on the hawkeye all seems well until I read the injector code afterwards which comes up as 'BHLL' missing out the last letter no matter how many attempts??

My TD5 is an 2006, 15p with green tops, 'the new injector is also green top to clarify and ECU NNN.......' Is this something to be too bothered about as i have read elsewhere people have had similar things and not caused any trouble.

Cheers

Hi. Are you exiting the programming menu before going through the next injectors too even without changing anything ? if yes, go through all of them then exit. If you are doing everything well with hawkeye and you still miss the last letter try with M instead A and if it works with that you are OK cos for the management is the same but even if the last slot remains blank it's not crytical

Cheers mate, will give it another go. Just to be clear are you saying to code all injectors with their codes even if they haven't been changed etc?
many thanks.

No need to change codes where they are right just pass through each page untill all 5 were checked before you exit

Hi mate,

As your advice has been worth it's weight in gold I thought i'd ask you direct as oppose to starting another thread, I finally finished the injector seals/dodgy injector change as discussed before. The misfiring appears to have gone but need to drive it longer to confirm this. I still think there could be a wiring thing going on like you have said but will wait and see.

The thing I have noticed now since the injector seal change is a strange ticking which appears to come from left side engine bay somewhere which as you can imagine has got me in a panic as i'm just trying to get it patched up to offload the b*****d money pit. My first thought was the injector adjusters but i would like to rule this out as i don't know how many times i double checked that and even again after hearing this ticking, it has been sat a while and i drained the oil out and put fresh in after the seal change to repair the sump which some numpty stripped the thread on so wonder if a potential lack of lubrication on startup?? I'm now dreading someone to say potential piston trouble/valves. It drives good, starts and pulls nicely, idles well and the cylinder roughness is fine so ????? any ideas ???? could it be a dodgy injector/spring etc?????

What is it with Land Rovers that just seem to not wanna be fixed!!!
