info needed on emissions test

hi guys i have a disco1 3.9v8 been working on the engine side of things. now i have brought a emissions co gas tester. and just done the reading which is 5.5 to 6.0 % is this high as im not to up on what i need to get it down to.any info would help.

Hi yes that is on the high side dependant on year if it's precat the emissions for MOT is 3.5% CO. If it's after 93 it will have a cat and lambda sensor and the emissions will be well down 0. Something CO.

hi mick its 1994 with cats its also got a white tune resistor. i have done a full engine service done most of the basic settings and put additive in system. but still high as you say.
