Induction Manifold Joint Washers!

another daft question from me..
I'm just refitting the exhaust/induction manifold and I got the long silver manifold gasket ready to go. Now, I've also got 2 x joint washers for the induction manifold only. Do the joint washers go on with the manifold gasket as well or is it either or? The old workshop manual I got makes no mention of the long manifold gasket, only the joint washers. So I'm a bit confused...which tends to happen often I admit..

and there wasn't any joint washers on it when I took it off.

When I say joint washers I mean induction manifold gaskets..

No I only used the long multi port one when I did mine up yesterday, this is all that was on it anyway.
