Yes I know there have been several posts on this already but I can't find an answer to my dilemma.

Driving home tonight I indicated at a junction and all was good. 10 mils down the drive I indicated into the drive and nothing, no click no tell tale, nothing.

Having looked about round and picked up the fuse from another post I went and checked that. Just went out and changed it and sure enough it had blown. However the relay is going totally mental!! The hazards work and the brake lights work.

NOt to sure what to go with here so any advice welcomed.

Simple flasher, earth connection??? Got lil baby so time is precious just now would like to get a quick fix if possible.

when you say mental, do you mean its clicking twice as fast? have you checked the actual bulb? it may have blown, usually causing the opposite indicator to flash at twice the speed hence relay mentalness.

I may be wrong, but worth checking the simple things 1st. fuse, bulb, relay, wireing.

Thanks Griff no I have checked all the bulbs. I had a bulb blown before and your right that is exactly what happened, always thought it was an intentional and very clever tell tale for a broken bulb.

When i say mental like someone have taken it in to a club and given it something strong. clicking very very fast, almost a constant noise and no indicator lights.

aw, getting out of my realm now sorry. probably still worth just checking the wireing you can see and maybe replacing the relay as they are cheap. it could have melted something inside.

Every now and again mine don't work either, trailer indicator light on dash is the only thing that flashes, So I just put my hazards on for a second and everthings goes back to normal

Cheers Griff, yes going to get a new relay and see if it does the job. Want to take the fuse box off and have a look behind any how. Got the glass fuses still and want to upgrade them to blades at some point.

Thanks Jason, tried that one as well but will give it another shot tomorrow morning.

Any other help welcomed.

check that the contact with the fuses has not oxidised. my old 90 had glass ones and every so often i would get a bad connection usually caused by the small corrossion on the contact between fuse and fuseboard. worth rubbing some emery paper over them to ensure good contact.

worth checking indicator cables could be crushed or cut shorting to earth ,incorrect bulb type fitted shorting bulb holder .bulb holder water ingress around terminals.

WTF got in the car the next morning did the hazards thing and problem solved, nothing since either. I know car, people, animals all have quirks but really!!! Thanks for all the ideas, support.

Nice one matey :)

I think that you will find that the next time you put your hazard lights on your indicators will stop working again  but at least you know what to do now ;)
