Hi, recently picked up a td5 and the indicators don't self cancel. A previous owner put an aftermarket steering wheel on and I suspect that may be the cause. If I remove the cowl at the back of the wheel there are a couple of pins and a blue plastic ring. The pins aren't quite long enough to reach the openings in the ring. Photo attached, is this the cause of my issue? And is there a resolution other than a new steering boss?

When the guy / gal bought the new steering wheel there should have been a bag of 'bits', screws, rods and stuff ...

The idea is to pick a rod or bar long enough to engage the blue plastic jobby, as the pins you have are a roll pin type, should be easy enough to find something to pop in there to do the job...

If you're worried about 'em falling out a dab of epoxy glue should do the job ...
