Indicators not flashing when locked/unlocked

Hello , recently when I lock/unlock my 2012 Puma the indicator lights have stopped flashing. Fairly new immobiliser fob and the fuses seem ok. I’ve recently done some towing and plugged in a trailer to the electrical connector, might just be a coincidence, but seems to have been an issue since then.
Any ideas?

This happened when unlocking my TD5 a while ago, after changing the fob battery it worked ok, I wonder if it is a telltale to let you know the battery is getting low, mine has been fine ever since changing the fob battery.
I know you say your fob is not that old but its the easiest and cheapest thing to check, poundland have the batteries in, I will let you guess the price.
