My n/s front indicator has stopped working.. I have checked the fuses and the bulb all good...how is it wired up so I can check the wiring??. . Is it wired thru the main plug on the headlight?? .. If so what colour wire is it??

Is it wired thru the main plug on the headlight??

From memory it does. Look at the bulb holder. If it has wires, then those are for that light. If it doesn't have wires, the connections are on the side of the bulb holder, so are routed through the lamp assembly. The colour for the LH indicators are Green/Red, assuming it's a FL1.

Sorry nodge yeah fl1 and its the twist in Indicator with no wires

The wiring is internal within the lamp assembly. There are a pair of contacts on each side of the bulb holder, which connect with corresponding connections on the lamp assembly. These have been known to loose connection, giving the issue you have. You can test the wiring to the headlamp assembly, simply by putting a test light on the G/R wire and ground. The test light should illuminate in unison with the other lights on that side. It's unlikely to be the wiring, and more likely to be the connections at the bulb holder.

One of my front indicators stopped working. Removed the holder and replaced bulb and it started working again... then stopped again a little while later. So I investigated a bit further. I found that a contact in the headlight unit had burnt out.

So I removed the headlight from the car and filled the gap where the contact had been with solder. I didn't really know if it would work, the solder wasn't exactly strongly "fixed" to the headlight, but put it back in and it worked fine for a couple of years before going again. By this time I had my parts car, so just swapped the headlights over from that.

Its difficult to get good pics of it because its tucked up inside the headlight, but this is what mine looked like...
