Hi,
My indicators and hazards have stopped working today, they have both stopped at the same time. Ive checked fuse and it was fine. Copuld this be an indicator relay? Any suggestions before i start following wires round.

Cheers,

They're fused seperately so it's unlikely to be fuses if both stopped working simultaneously - the flasher unit is the most likely candidate I reckon.

I had similar symptons on my 88 converted to 200 tdi - the flasher unit was knackered as well as the hazard switch (the internals had exploded). On mine, the hazards have to work to be able to operate the flashers.

Hi,

ok an update. Ive had the fusebox off and looked at the relay, doesnt seem to be any corrosion etc. So i put the relay back in without the cover on and tried the indicators. The magnet in the relay turns on, it makes a click, but then the plate remains attached to the magnet, i.e. the magnet stays turned on.
Does thismean the relays had it? of is there a short somewhere for it to remain on?
Finally whats a flasher unit? is this the relay behind the fusebox?

Cheers,
