Increase ride height

I need to raise the ride height of my 109 SER III. Its on parabolic springs. I have fitted an excellent power steering kit which is just fantastic BUT the pulley that I have fitted on my 208 3 LTR Perkins to drive the pump is right above the front axel and on two occasions now at 15 mph on rough tracks I have hit abrupt ruts and the axel has made contact with the pulley and loosened the drive belt --- suddenly no power steering.
Can I get more distance between pulley and axel by fitting longer spring shackles;ie, the "1 Ton" ones. Can anyone suggest any other way

By fitting only the shackles you will only gain about 1-inch lift max, to get the full increase you would need to extend the front spring mounting on the front & rear springs but that in turn could cause problems with the prop fowling the front cross-member. The factory solution to this on the MOD S111's & civy 1-tons was to take a small section out of the cross-member (crawl under an ex-MOD LWB S111 when you next get a chance and you will see).

Extended bump-stops would probably prevent this without lifting it but if you did both you would retain the articulation while removing the possability of the axle coming so close again.

Many thanks for the replies and advice. I only need a couple of Cm so the longer shackles should do it. The contact point is actually on the casting web on top of the diff so I guess a bit of carefull use with an angle grinder here will gain an extra bit of space as well. Thanks, Regards all.
