Hi Y'all,I just bought some dodgy diesel and put it in my P38 now when the tank gets low I'm cutting out,I checked the funnel I used and its blocked with a silicone type substance, she restarts after a while but I think I need to take the pump out of the tank and give it a clean(?)I'm gonna change the fuel filter too,my question is,is it a big job getting the fuel pump out of the tank? I've done 1500 miles since the diesel went in so I dont think any ****e got in to the engine.Cheers Tim.

Hiya Tim

had the same problem in may with the pictured hybrid turned out to be crap blocking the pick-up on the pump

in my case i just removed the pick up cleaned it poped it back in and in
my electric pup i too apart and got what seemed like rust ****e away

then put it back presto the thing ran again with full performance.

I have had a tank of crap diesel once through the p38 the economy went through the floor - ran it half full then tanked it with the good good diesel - mixed with the crap stuff and all seemed ok

daft question - have you changed the filter seems the easier option before the lines?
or even if you have access to a compressor dropping the fuel filter and blowing the fuel line from the pick-up pump to the filter with an air line

clear lines

Hi Abe,I aint changed the filter yet, waiting for fuel level to drop,is the pick up hard to get to and does it involve removing/lowering the tank? Cheers Tim.
