really sorry for the noob questions but i would rather ask people who are going to know....

thanks for your time in advance :D:D:D

Just put a cobra 19 DX on my 110. Cheap and cheerful. Got a small whip ariel from ebay as well and run ariel coax under head lining. I have mounted the whip on a bracket at the rear above the door to the left.

Haven't got a clue:confused::confused: BUT i have definitely seen a few "What CB" freds knocking about, might be worth a search pal;);)

thanks fella, ill hold my hands up this time and say i didnt search...:eek::eek:

Evening gaz thunderpole offroad kit and side mount is what I have ill search for my discount code too if you wish

that would be spot on mate if you could :D

if yu want something simple - Maplins slimline does the job.

might sound like a lot of silly questions but im thick when it comes to techy stuff :rolleyes::rolleyes:

yes mate i believe it does,

we were told that when we had them in the tippers i used to drive, how true it is i dont know exactly but it was thought anything you had to hold in hand.....

No cb doesn't have same as mobile phone and I have found it will be about 75-80 from thunderpole trust me its cheaper than maplins I went through all that when choosing mine

Haha something I do know. Best antenna I have seen for landys is a springer. Basically long bit of hard wire with a spring on the bottom. Panel mount it in front wing near the front and you can bend it back to top of window and hold in place with a bit of rubber. If it touchs the body it will ground out killing your TX power. You will also need an SWR meter. Any of the TTI sets are good. Basic but good. You want FM. As AM is mainland Europe only. If caught using AM without a license in uk you can get a hefty fine.

And no you can use handheld radios with penalty(unless your driving is unsafe). This is because if they banned their use it would cover police radios!

Just a note on the AM/FM bit.
Most of Europe do not use AM, I believe Italy, and Ireland do, but not most.
most use the "mid band" FM, the UK historically used UK40 27.60125-27.99125Mhz, mid band (EU40 26.965-27.405Mhz) was already in use in europe IIRC, and the EU made us use it over here, in reality, no one does, and still uses UK40
The main AM users are merkins.

bought one today from the local truckstop,

thunderpole t1000, mag mount and thunderpole aerial all for £80, should get me started ok.....

big thank you for all your help again

My dad used to be a traffic officer and even before the specific laws on mobile phones come in he used to do people on mobile phones and radio handsets for driving with undue care and attention. His argument was always they need two hands to drive and if talking on radio werent fully concentrating on the road.

He werent a complete a**hole to everyone he saw just anyone whos driving seemed to suffer because of it.
