What is it exactly? It isn't what it sounds like - ie deactivating the immobilizer because in the instructions on nanocom.it it says:

"Immobilizer: Turns on the passive (self) immobilize function in markets which use it."

So what is "passive (self) immobilize"?

tnx

Nik

P.S. Got bored of making the windows go up and down now. No faults in any ECU, so what can I play with? :)

According to the manual (it's not perfectly clear), passive immobilisation is...

"A feature designed to safeguard the vehicle if the driver forgets to lock the doors. The engine is immobilised whenever any of the following occur....

1. When the vehicle is locked with the handset or key

2. Thirty seconds after the starter has been turned off AND the door opened.

3. Ten minutes after the starter switch has been turned off (even if the key remains in the starter switch and the drivers door has not opened)."

I think point 1 would be "active immobilisation" and the other two "passive"

It goes on to say "It is virtually impossible to leave the car attended or unattended without the engine being immobilised automatically". The system works in addition to Land Rover unreliability!
