Hi Guys
Any ideas as to disable the immobiler on a freelander DI.

cheers:D
Hi, did you ever receive a solid answer to your post? My Freelander has now had all components replaced for the second time in 6 months. Works fine then just suddenly won't turn off, light goes out in dash but car remains immobilized, Landover say not a common problem then you visit ebay or local breakers and its such a problem they're selling all you need off scrappers as a kit for on average £150...

TBH You'd probably be better off asking this question in the Freelander section, but in the meantime, you say that you've replaced or had replaced all of the "components" and the problem seems to have reappeared. This would start to point to the problem possibly being with those parts you were unable to replace, for instance the vehicle wiring.
As I said, you'd best ask some FL1 owners.
Regarding what's a "common fault" and what's not, to you, a hundred instances might indicate a common fault, but to a company which has sold many hundreds of thousands of these vehicles, a problem doesn't become a common fault until possibly a number of thousand instances start showing up. It's all relative.

Thanks, hopefully problem for me is fixed. The old key which I had to keep for door locks may have caused the issue but this time I've popped it open and removed the original chip.
