Silly question, or not.

I have a 1999 300TDi D-90 imported to the Bahamas from the UK.

When I recieved it the keys came on a keychain that has 2 buttons on it.
There is also a red light on the dash that flashes on and off after the engine is off.

Is this some sort of alarm/immobilizer thingy?

If so how does it work?

Thanks.

Yes it's an alarm/immobiliser. To set the alarm/immobiliser press the right hand button. To turn it off press the left hand button. If you decide not to bother with pressing the buttons the immobiliser will set itself anyway after 30 seconds. The fob contains a chip that will de-activate the immobiliser when positioned next to the ignition barrel. In short DO NOT take the fob off yer keys cos the immobiliser won't turn off if you do.;)

ohhhh yessssss.:cool::p;)

I got this mental image of you dancing round yer front room waving a couple of glow sticks around.:D:D:D
