Hi all,
Be gentle with me as i am a newbie to the forum!! Having read loads of info about our Freelander problem I wanted to be more specific and see what next cause of action to take. Currently we have a 1998 freelander, 3 door 1.8 k series petrol, been great so far as we throw all the stuff in, take it to the beach with the kids in, have a great day then park her up for the night
Problems occured when the battery in the 'fob' started to go, as central locking would work intermittently so replaced the battery, re-synchronised the fob and all worked well.......until last week. The car had been left for a couple of weeks and i tried the fob to open the car and nothing, so opened the car with the key but the immobiliser light stayed on the dash, so tried re-synchronising but nothing worked....now central locking not working. I have located the CCU and taken it out cleaned it and put back ensuring all contacts are made etc... Alarm is working as when I open the bonnet it sounds the horn as usual and can only be cancelled by the key operation in the door
..............any ideas anyone...... thanks
