I went out this morning and it started no problem. Got where I was going and then it wouldn’t start. Dash lights on but nothing when turning the key. I took the key out a few times and kept trying and eventually fired up. Is this the start of immobiliser problems ?? Key is a recent after market replacement but with original chip etc and new battery.

When this happened to me it was the contacts in the starter.
I got to the point of having to turn the key backwards to "off", then forwards to "start" over and over again until it started.
So I fixed mine and put a thread up about it as the starter is an absolute barsteward to get off.
Best of luck

Cheers Stan. I done a starter a couple of years ago, but can’t remember now if it was on the Disco or the Defender

As long as your fob works to unlock the vhicle it's not the imobiliser. Common thing is loosen lucar connector on the starter solenoid or a bad contact on that path somewhere, can be the igition switch too, investigation is needed

Thanks. I’ve been out a few times and has started no problem. Of course it will only do it at the most inconvenient time now
