Still no luck trying to get my p38 un-immobilised, one key operates ok the other sets off the alarm.Tried to use the door lock code after re-energising the sytem. The becm and ecu communicate, I have a print out of the software/becm codes. Still unable toget the engine to turn over.
Can anyone or does anyone travel to the isle of wight to help me on this. I will pay ferry/ accomodation and meals and labour costs.
Otherwise:
Breaking 94 p38a auto/lpg good runner when not immobilised.

Does the check engine lamp come on when you switch on the ignition ? If it does not then the engine ecu is not recognising the square wave security pulse from the Becm. This needs to be re-learnt using testbook.

give me some details from the engine ecu i MAY be able to help

ECU number and any others numbers on it

regards bell

The check engine light is on and the only other fault messages are about the windows not programmed in.
Where do I look for the details you need? The print out I have is I think about the BECM

Is there power at maxifuse 2 in the eng compartment fusebox ? If there is then try removing the starter relay - RL 16 and link terms 30 and 87 does the engine then crank ? If it does then you have a problem related to to Becm, ign switch or most likely the cabling in between. If it doesnt crank then you have a problem with the starter or connections to it.That the check engine lamp comes on is good -I have seen several cars recently that have lost the security link between the Becm and the the engine ecu - for no apparent reason.I think you should be able to sort this out with basic electrical checks with a decent multimeter and the right bits of the wiring diagram.

Hi, the maxifuse is live, I jumped the pins on thec relay and not a lot happened. I will try the local auto electricians, but just to impress you, when I asked about the becm, they said, take it out, we will post it off and get a quote for it to be reprogrammed, they obviously need the work.
Thanks guys, I will keep you posted.

If nothing happened when you jumped the relay pins then you have a simple problem - poor connections at the starter, failed starter solenoid etc.Worst thing is that access to the starter is quite poor, you could try tapping the starter solenoid whilst powering it up.Just about any garage can sort your problem from here,if getting underneath the car safely is an issue. Please dont do anything with the Becm or the Gems engine ecu - they are not your problem.
