I'm new and would like a little help please!

First thanks for allowing me to join and good morning all. I have a 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 auto. Recently when driving around town with the engine warm i suddenly loose power, the car is slow to pull away and is not responsive. I have a fault reading, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3 P247A, would this fault make the car run poorly when the engine is up to temperature? The car is booked in next week to have it replaced, i just hope it fixes it.
