Hi guys

I wonder if you can help ?

I have fitted my cb as per instructions as well as the arial again as per instructions but for some reason it comes on but there is no sound out or in any ideas ?

What model is it?
Is there a squelch dial? If so then turn this down as it cuts out interference for when you are not receiving anything. If you have someone nearby with a fitted working one then it is best to have them around so you can test properly.

With the squelch turned down and the volume up you should be getting a load of static through it.

I would probably go back to the seller about it as it sounds like the speaker could be blown.

There is usually a 3.5mm jack for plugging in an external speaker on the back if you have one then try it and that will let you know where the fault is but it sounds more likely that you might have got a duff one.

I'm getting the static through the speaker so don't think theres a problem there thinking maybe the aerial isnt earthed correctly will try and sort that and see if it helps.

On my thunderpole t 1000 it came pre set to the euro frequencies which are legal in the uk but don't pick up the uk bands.

Have a look in the instruction manual about changing frequencies (its just a combination of turning on and off and pressing buttons) as it sounds like that could be the problem.

Yeah mine was the same. The nice gentleman in the shop sorted mine for me before I left with it or I would probably have been in the same predicament

Mine the same. Felt such a fool when a more knowledgeable member just switched it from the eu channels to the UK bands.
