I'm sure I must be posting in the wrong section...My Freelander 1, 1.8 ES, petrol, 2002, goes tomorrow... I can't justify the expense of keeping him with my 110; particularly as he needs a new head gasket, cam belt, water pump, slave cylinder and bracket, he runs too hot and his idling revs are too high and he has plant life growing out of the doors.
I will look out and see only one set of four wheels...big wheels...
and I will miss his faithful face.

Surely you all must have said goodbye reluctantly to an old faithful four wheeled (5 with the spare) friend...one with a name, a part of the family.....
....are there any words of comfort???

On the bright side, you've got a 110! Iconic, reliable, spacious, practical, cheap to maintain, cheap to insure, cheap to run and a whole load of fun! I'm just spending a little bit of time and money getting a few little niggles sorted with mine then it's off to Guernsey again at the end of July, start of August for 2 weeks of camping. Freelanders are for halfbloods who like to think they've got a Land Rover but who've driven cars in all their comfort and refined "glory" for way too long to the point that they've gone soft. You're a fullblood now, use the 110 every day and make the most of it ;)

I part exchanged my MG for him, we were having our first baby, he introduced me to the love of Landrovers... I will miss him. I will retain his plate and put it on the fender as a tribute.

I'm sorry to hear of yer loss. It's ok to post Freelander related stuff in ere. It's the second Freelander section.
