Im Back!

hello fellow landy lovers,
Some of you may remember me from last year,
Any way long story short after selling my landy last year im back wanting another one, Yaay,,

I need your help, I found a landy that i am thinking about buying,
Its a 90 F reg, 3.5 V8 converted to gas, it Has the following:
Warn 8274 winch
Discovery 5 Speed box
Discs all round
4x Simex extreme treckers on offset steel rims
2”Lift with gas shocks

Th eba dbit is its black and has been hand painted with a brush!!!
Seeing past the paint what do you guys think?
Is the 3.5 v8 a good thing or should i stick to derv?

The asking price is £2500

PLease any help would be great!

Na sadly i didnt, But i did go to canada for 3 months in winter,

Whats so bad about black? not so nice i no with brush srokes in it.

OH no blacks fine, Its the brush bit sounds dodgy, It was blue so i guess brush painted black gotta be good?

But is the whole thing worth £2500

Dunno about the new un. I'd stick to deezil meself.

Two and a half grand seems a bit much, if the paints been bodged what else has!

Is only £1800

Couldn't say reely I'd want to have a proper look at it fost.

thats his reserve, I asked him about that, he will only take that if this is what the auction ended with, but i think it will make a load more than this, I spoke to him on the phone and he said he would end it for £2500

If it reely is as rust free as he reckons and theres nowt else major wrong with it, and whoever put the engine in made a decent job of it then £2500 would be about right I spose. I'd still want a good look at it first though.

I aint never had a v8 always stuck to me derv, What do they perform like on n off road? hmmm..... Wat to do?

I used to have a 3.5L V8 110, handled great on / off road. Lots of power, but obviously a lot more thirsty than the diesel engine.

V8's are great offroad. dont like water though. £2500 seems cheap to be honest. if the vehicle was standard then maybe. but 35" simex tyres, 2" procomp lift, warn winch, steering guard... all adds up. those simex are worth a few bob. if the paintwork is **** then you could always buy some army surplus in a colour you want and roller it on. cost you about £50. so dont worry about that. you can still get a good finish with a roller!

So you've painted the doors then?

After sleeping on it i decided against that landy, i know have upped my budget to £3500 and i have a q plated defender with a disco 200tdi from a long wb disco, Its green, n i always wanted a green one, has a few things done to it but most of all it was owned by my uncle who put a lot of time and effort into it, I feel more safe spendind that much money on a landy that i know the history of!!

Thats what i thought, I rang the guy and he aint taking no less than 1800 £2500 was a buy it now price!

So what exactly have or have not in the form of transport now? Why don't you try an up your budget a bit more & really treat yourself?
