Have had ignition warning light come on 2 or 3 times recently, about 20 - 30 minutes after starting. It was going on & off for spells of 2 - 5 minutes, then yesterday after several on- off periods it stayed on for the remaining 20 minutes of the journey. Today, whilst cold, the light went out as usual on starting. As there is a delay between starting from cold, & the light coming on, I'm wondering if there's a diode pack problem? Advice please.

Does sound like it. Looks like a battery in the icon? If on it should mean the battery is discharging and not being charged which other posters have suggested may well be either a brush problem or a diode pack problem, have you checked your alternator's output, i.e. switch on every blasted thing you can with the engine running then measure the voltage across the battery, should be about 14 volts. Or at least it would have been in the old days before cars ran more on electrics than diesel, hey @sierrafery !!!!?????
