Ignition problem

Guys recently bought a 76 Series 3 was Diesel now Petrol.
There lies the problem if i turn ignition off engine still runs. Had to fit a kill switch to stop power to coil and kill engine. Any ideas is it switch or me being stupid or both thanks martin.

Must admit mine did that for a bit then realised the alternator was back feeding the ignition switch so wouldnt kill the power to the fuel cut off (deisel)

the diesel ignition is different to the petrol and theyre wired up differentley

Where has the coil been wired from? Can you trace it back to the ignition switch?

The guy I bought it off fitted a kill switch suspect still wired up as diesel can I just replace switch with petrol switch and dump PR heat wires?
