Hello All
I have just replaced the head gaskets on my 4.0L discovery 2 and now have an ignition fault.

When I first started the car it would not tickover I put spark testers on the plug leads and noticed that on cylindas 1,4,6,7 the spark testers were glowing very dim while cylindas 2,3,5,8 glowed bright. I swopped the testers round just in case they were different types but still got the same results.

I decidered to change the right hand coil which is connected to cylindas 1,4,6,7 after fitting a new coil the car will now tickover but there is still no power and the spark testers still glow very dim on cylindas 1,4,6,7

Anyone got any ideas please

Hi All
Thanks for looking at my post
I have somemore information after pluging the car into a cheap £20 OBD tester it came up with these two fault codes.

P1510 Short circuit to battery - Opening Winding
p1553 Short circuit to battery - Closing Winding

Hi thank you both for the tip while I was checking the wiring I found that I had plug in the wrong socket to the right hand coil. I plugged in the grey socket which goes to the cylinder on top of the air intake which fitted perfect. After putting the plugs the right way round all worked OK.

Thanks Again
