Hello,
I'm visiting family and not at home due to lockdown. No manual with me. I have a 1994 range rover classic softdash V8 3.9
The red ignition light has suddenly stopped working. All other dash lights work plus rev counter. Checked the alternator output, showing 14.75v. - 14.95v
I checked the bulb, swaped it with another working bulb.
Anybody got any idea where to start looking next?
Would appreciate any help to find the cause of the problem.
Cheers, Paul

A grown up will be along shortly with the correct answer but....(going off memory...) Isn't the bulb earthed when the alt' starts charging?
So my guess is the positive feed to the bulb isn't there .
Best wait for a grown up.

Locate the warning circuit wire at the alternator end of the wiring.
Ignition on.
Touch the wire to a good clean earth.
Warning light should come on if that part of the circuit is OK.

As long as it's someboby online. Don't want anybody to get nicked for non essential buggery! I'll start tracing the wiring and check connections. Was hoping it was the alternator, just nut and bolt job.
