Took a trip down the motorway this afternoon, and having made a few changes to the car over the past week, including a K&N filter, I decided to reset the computer as a matter of curiousity, to see if it could tell the difference. Recalculating........ recalculating....... 40mpg:eek::eek: Bloody hell! If only that were true:D:D

I know it's subjective, but hilarity aside, it does cruise more comfortably at 70 now, doesn't seem quite as astmatic, which is just as it should be:)

be nice if it were true though.:D

Well when I went to view the 4.6 yesterday I reset my trip computer and from my house and back (country, urban, motorway, urban; then the reverse for the return) I got back home with 28.4MPG and that was doing 70 on cruise control on the M-Way due to the speed cameras.

Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I'd say.

And to clarify I was driving a 2.5DSE for those that don't know and the total trip was 90 Miles (65 M-Way or DC / 25 Other).

thats not bad woogoo, my 4.6 gives a reading of 22.5 mpg on a run, which i dont think is too bad at all, mine on lpg so cost wise its gottabe around 30-35 mpg ish. which makes it cheaper to run than the old passat we got !!!!!

Think you trip computer is faulty.:D:D:D

So what were the other changes then? Was the K&N a straight replacement filter or an induction kit?
The K&N was a direct replacement filtercharger panel job, wanted to stick with airbox as hoping to come up with a snorkel at a later date and this was more useful for that. The other changes were spring swap OEM for Arnott Gen 2's, and shocks changed for Terrafirma's, made big improvement in ride on road, haven't had chance to test offroad effect yet.
