...'you gotta hole in you radiator' or 'mate there's smoke coming out you grille'

Or just commenting on my, TD (removed breather pipe from oil filter to inlet manifold)
smoking I will cry....well, I wont cry I will politely inform them that its a breather pipe and try not to bore em with to many facts:p

Any one got any good tips to hide the smoke?
I have tried several methods but all have failed, now pipe is wedged in the chassis blowing in there.

It doesn't affect the engine at all, in fact its a lovely sounding and clean engine, apart from a few oil drips:D:D:D
Don't think its gonna die any time soon so I can put me 200tdi in yet..

A nice simple tip to minimise the visual impact of 'smoke' coming from my grille will be greatly received :D:D

Many thanks in advance and HI ALL:D:D:D:D!

we used to cut open blocked montego breathers and put metal gold scouring pads in and weld up, the trick would be to catch the droplets and let the vapour go

friend of mine used to do short circuit racing, no oil on the track and what he did was get a steel gallon can, fit the breather pipe into the hole and drill holes around where the handle fits, 1/4 way down the can he fastened another pipe to the can to exaust the smoke and this was fastened to a bracket secured by a sump bolt at the back of the engine,

i had the same issue the other week, combined with the exhaust to turbo clamp being loose the wife was complaining of smells n feeling sick whilst out driving, i put it down to the usual landy sounds n smells as i drive around with the window down.

Turns out there is a few holes down by the fuse box into the engine bay which weren't sheilded properly and she was getting exhaust fumes pumped into her side of the cab:eek:

The upside was she didn't say much on long journeys.....

Seriously though, i just cable tied the pipe to the airbox pipe and point it downwards, so far it's been ok for no smoke combined with a service, plugs, injectors, filters etc, have you done a service lately?

cheers guys there are some good tips there:D

I have added a long pipe but he's only long enough to reach the front of the chassis where the bumper mounts.

don't know of any scrapper montegos to scavenge for bits.

Stick a feck off long pipe on it so it exits the rear near the exhaust.

Not a bad plan, like it, might search the building site down the road for pipe, tomorrow night:D

done all me filters but not injectors yet, will that help?
According to my folder I got with it, the injectors were done 20000miles ago, but that was 4 years ago:eek:
