Hi all. Just got myself a D2 ES, Installing a new car stereo as the aftermarket one that was in when I bought it was naff. I’m getting a lot of static/hissing through the speakers whichever mode or source input is selected. Also, on the lowest volume setting, ie 1, it’s really quite loud. Any suggestions greatfully appreciated.

There is an amplifier under the passenger's seat which actually powers the speakers. The original LR head unit was designed to give you the correct low level output to feed the input of the amplifier.
The usual way of sorting it out is either to use the low level output setting on the head unit or get some electronic jiggery-pokery to reduce the level and matching from the head unit to suit the amplifier input.
