Afternoon folks.
Well we have leecy to the sockets and lights in the east wing today. Have managed to keep the smoke in and all the squiggles going down the right wire so they are not bumping into each other.
Now hoping the water comes on as I am honking after working in the sweat box loft.
Got to sort me tool bucket from electrical to wood butcher tomorrow.

Well.....
Today's news is that the second stat I "repaired" is now going full blast, no smell of burning, no warmth to be felt on it nor in the wires leading to it.
It is obvious to me that soldering is slightly a black art to peeps like me who have never been shown how to do it.
I did take a file to one of the soldering tips, dunno if that helped much, but by careful positioning of the work piece in the vice, I used gravity to make sure yessdi's accident didn't happen on this one.
What I hate the most is that the soldering iron is like an on-off switch, with a mind of its own. I seem to sit with it against the workpiece for ages with nowt happening, yet at other times it works, eventually. I don't have proper stuff to clean it with, apart from a file or some wire wool, and a sponge in a mug of watter. Yessdi the solder pump worked well, today it did naff all.
Anyway this positive step means I will persevere.

The Mini is all back together and running (much to my surprise).
I don't think the valve-stem seals have fixed Cyl3 being a dirty cylinder though.
Raining like crazy here right now so I will pull the plugs out tomorrow to see if anything has changed.
Cyl 3 dirty plug went into cyl 1 and vice-versa. I can then see if Cyl 3 is mucky-ing up nice clean plugs from cyl 1.

Been giving myself a buzz cut since the start of Covid, first with cheap china knees clipper and currently with a proper made in USA one. Saved a few sovs in barbers bills. Good job I ain’t a Freelanderer, I couldn’t afford to buy all the hairdresser’ s kitHad me ten quid haircut so I'll be all set
